WELCOME to Lotus Shih Tzu
Thank you for stopping by. Above is Lotus Zephyr Red Hot Party (Rowdy), he is my 1st home bred champion.
My shih tzu are all champions and have champion pedigrees.
I am a non-commercial breeder. I only breed a limited number of litters a year.
I have been involved in conformation showing since 2009. I breed and raise my AKC shih tzu in my home in North TX. where they are surrounded by love and attention from day 1. I also practice early neurological stimulation from day 3 thru 16. This has many benefits including improved cardio vascular performance, stronger heartbeats, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress and greater resistance to disease. The puppies are raised in an environment conducive to their optimum socialization so their transition to their new families is seamless. Puppies do not leave the pack until 12 weeks of age, as they need this time to learn basic social skills. I breed wonderful puppies that are show quality to the breed standard, this is important to maintain healthy and well balanced dogs. Shih Tzu, like other dogs who have hair instead of fur, shed less (a bit every day rather than huge quantities seasonally) and have less dander. For this reason they are classified as “hypo-allergenic.” The compact Shih Tzu is the ideal canine companion. Originally bred for royalty in China, this little guy still considers himself a prince among dogs. A true sweetheart, his purpose in life is to love and be loved. Playful and mischievous, they will steal your shoes and your heart!!
Imperial, tiny and teacup are used to describe undersized Shih Tzu.
You can view the standard here: http://www.akc.org/breeds/shih_tzu/breed_standard.cfm
Please let me know if you would like to be put on the list for my next litter.
Please have fun looking around the site at these great companions.
We feed Muenster Pet Ancient Grains exclusively. No corn, wheat or soy.
